I think it should come as no surprise that I am going to sew along with the Modern Plus Sampler Quilt Along hosted by my good friends Cheryl (Meadow Mist Designs) and Paige (Quilted Blooms). The quilt combines most of the plus blocks from their awesome book, Modern Plus Sign Quilts, into a beautiful 63″ x 78″ sampler quilt. The Quilt Along runs from now (July 2018) through April 2019 with a new set of directions revealed on the first Thursday of each month.
Well, yesterday was the first Thursday of July, so the first set of instructions was released: the fabric requirements! The pattern calls for 6 fabrics, and I wanted to use what I have in my stash.
The top row from left to right are my Fabrics A, B, and C: Kaffe Fassett Shot Cotton in Pudding, Kona Cotton in Cerise, and Kona Cotton in Hibiscus. The bottom row from left to right are my Fabrics D, E, and F: Kona Cotton in Silver, Kona Cotton in Pink, and Kona Cotton in Pomegranate.
I think it is really neat that the fabrics can look differently based on how they are arranged. In the second photo, the fabrics are in order with Fabric A (Shot Cotton in Pudding) on top and Fabric E (Kona Cotton Pomegranate) on bottom.
My fabric choices were driven by the yardage I have on hand, and I can’t wait to see all the beautiful versions come together during the quilt along. Will you be joining us?
