As hard as it is to believe, it’s fast approaching the halfway point of the year. I am going to host a #2018MidYearReview linkup party from July 1st through July 15th, so now is the time to take stock of the goals you set for yourself. You can browse the #2018PlanningParty linkup to find your original goal setting. I’ll be working behind the scenes to round up sponsors for giveaways for those who linkup for the Mid Year Review, so if you’d like to be a sponsor, please email me at yvonne(at)quiltingjetgirl(dot)com.
If you selected an accountability partner for the year, have you checked in with them recently? It might be a good time to have a sewing day together, even if only virtually!
One of my goals was to create 3-4 bed quilts for my husband and I. I have made the first quilt, Kaleidoscope Plus, and I really want to get started on the second which is based on the cute fox silhouette image above. I guess that means I should get some fabric on order and get some help from my husband printing the templates I want!

Unfortunately I have failed miserably in my goals for quilting/sewing, this new business that himself has started is taking all of his time and mine as well… something has got to change. I need to get back into my sewing room, I tried last week and now have to fix about 18 blocks because I forgot to put the center white pieces in, big oops! I am hoping to be able to start taking one day a week for me time soon!
Woaahhh!! Mid-year what? Christmas was just a couple of weeks ago! I don’t recall making a goal for 2018. If I did it went “poof” up the chimney with Santa. . Slow going but I have managed to arrange and stitch together the BOMs I made last year. Now to the borders. I am having fun making a few fabric postcards and sending them to friends.
Good idea to have a review. I know I have been having fun, but need to get that stash under control LOL
Yvonne, your Kaleidoscope Quilt is gorgeous! I’ve so many projects in the works this year that I plan to have finished at least 20 quilts by the end of the year. We shall see…
Those are two cute fox silhouettes! Are you doing both, or just the leaping fox? Thanks for the terror-inducing reminding that the year is nearly half-over. Kidding, but some days it does feel terrifying. My May was written off because of family needs/visits, but here’s hoping June will see some completions!
Thanks for the reminder to check-in. Pretty pleased with the way things are going…maybe an update in the 26th week of the year or sooner.
Hello Yvonne; I did not set any goals for myself, just far to many other personal issues going on in life right now. Yet, I always feel better when I read about my blogging friends who are telling about what they are accomplishing. With all that you have going on in your life right now, you should be especially thrilled that you are achieving the goals that you set for yourself. I look forward to seeing this new fox project! Have a great day Yvonne in all that you are working on achieving!
Thank You so much for the reminder! I love your Kaleidoscope Quilt! It is beautiful! Looking forward to the next 6 months and to see what I can accomplish.
This is such a good reminder. I am a great one for setting goals and then just chugging along as usual! Time for a reality check. 🙂
Great reminder, I can’t believe that almost half of 2018 is over already!
