Last week the Modern Quilt Guild released the Catalog for QuiltCon 2019, which is going to be held from February 21-24 in Nashville, Tennessee. I am really excited to share that I will be teaching a 3 hour transparency design workshop on Sunday, February 24th, from 9-12 am.
Workshop description: Combining discussion, sketching, and design wall group activity, Yvonne will walk you through considerations and her design process for creating transparency quilt designs. The workshop will explore color value, fabric choices, monochromatic versus color wheel progression, and the difference between transparency and ombré design. The workshop is not geared toward supporting a specific design software, but it is structured as a hands-on, visual approach to considering design through using pencil and paper and fabric on a design wall.
Registration for Modern Quilt Guild members opens on June 26th, but be sure to join the MQG (or renew your membership!) by June 21 for early registration! Non member registration opens July 10th.
I hope to see you there!
How exciting and congrats!
This is awesome Yvonne. If I can get in I’ll be in your class.
Congratulations on your class at QuiltCon, that is awesome!
Congrats! I was really hoping to try to make it to Nashville, but the registration is just too early, which is really disappointing.
Congrats on teaching at QuiltCon!
It’ll be a fun class! I hope I get to finally meet you in person!
I will be there! Yippee! I haven’t decided on classes but there are a few things I would focus on and design is one…also photography for blogs…and maybe more machine quilting on a domestic machine. I hae a few days to figure it out.
Hello Yvonne; I am so thrilled for you!! Congratulations on another fantastic achievement! You, my friend, are taking quilters to the moon and back with your Modern Patterns and spectacular personality teaching and broadening the knowledge of Modern Quilting to those of us who have no clue plus those who crave more on your JETGIRL QUILTING BLOG. I wish you the best as your quilting world and life are changing all for the better. Congrats Yvonne!!!
Fantastic, Yvonne! Congrats, I’m so excited for you!
Hmm, might have to check into going to one of these, and this one is do-able for multiple reasons. Congrats on being a teacher there!
Congratulations! I’m so very excited for you.
That is exciting – congratulations!
