My progress on the Murrina quilt continues to be rather slow, but hopefully I can pick up the pace this week a bit and at least get the quilt top and backing ready to quilt. Wish me luck!

Murrina – Snowball Blocks
I have transformed all the improv blocks I shared in my last progress post into the snowball blocks that the pattern calls for. I am excited by how bright the Kona Breakers is and how all the colors are looking together so far. Now comes the fun part of arranging everything in the full quilt layout. I will probably spend some time fussing over which block goes where…

Office Setup
One of the many distractions I have had recently keeping me away from my sewing machine is updating my office setup. In preparation for downsizing and being more mobile, I purchased a laptop and spent the weekend archiving all my data off my desktop and setting up my laptop. Installing new programs and doing file transfer and maintenance isn’t glorious or particularly fun, but it feels good to have a fresh start.

All the Angles – Quilting Jetgirl Newsletter
After starting a newsletter list toward the end of 2017, life and overwhelm got in the way. Starting on May 1st, my newsletter, All the Angles, will publish bi-monthly on the 1st and 15th of every month. Which means my next newsletter goes out tomorrow. Not subscribed? Sign up on the sidebar to the right or use the All the Angles Signup Form.
Do you have a quilting event that you would like to have featured? Let me know!
And just a quick reminder about the BackSide Fabrics blowout sale that starts today! I know I am planning to see what I can find, so save a little for me, ok?
I am looking forward to seeing how you finish your improv snowball blocks. They look great.
I think Breakers looks very promising considering what you are showing so far! I have all my blocks ready for layout too – just waiting for my background fabric to come! It’s turquoise-y too, but I made sure to stay away from Breakers! 😉
Hello Yvonne, What a perfect block to use improv piecing in. I look forward to seeing more of this quilt as it comes together, because you have me guessing at all of the layouts that could be done with the variety of sizes you have made. Since you are such a pro at a computer, will you come and update my lap top? Just kidding. Have a great day!
Such a pretty shade of blue!
These improv blocks look great. I really like taking a traditional block and adding a bit of improv to it. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
