Scrappy Cushion Pattern Giveaway

I met Carla from Granny Maud’s Girl in 2014 when we were both participants in the New Quilt Bloggers Blog Hop. I count Carla as a very good friend, and I am so grateful that we met on the blog hop! We have traded mini mini quilts, and Carla was super pivotal in my quilt pattern writing journey: as an editor, she offered to editorially review my first pattern and she encouraged me to try something new. Last week, Carla released her own first pattern, Scrappy Cushion.

The pattern utilizes English Paper Piecing (EPP).

The cushion cover is finished on the sewing machine and fits a 40-centimetre or 16-inch cushion insert. Alternatively, you could ignore the cushion idea and turn it into a mini quilt, or you could include the 6-inch blocks in other projects.

It would be a great way to use up some of your scraps or play with your favourite fabric and colour combinations. I jumped out of my usual colour comfort zone and threw in purple, teal, orange and yellow with gleeful abandon.

Carla also recently published some lovely tips for Cushion (Pillow) Assembly that are definitely worth checking out.

I am pleased to be able to host a giveaway for Carla’s first pattern release. Please use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter to win. By entering, you are acknowledging that you are 18 years of age or older. The giveaway will run through January 26th at 11:59 PM Eastern. A winner will be randomly selected and emailed, and the winner will have 72 hours to claim the prize via email or a new winner will be randomly selected. Good luck!

What a happy pillow! I love the pattern and the way your friendship evolved from the NQB group – hard to think of you as a participant and not the one running it!

Hello Yvonne; What a sweet thing to do for a friend! Of course, I know that you are the special person who does these types of things just because of the huge heart you have! I love the pattern for the pillow and would love to win it! So, definitely I signed up to follow her and I think your pillow is adorable! Thank you so much for sharing Yvonne! Have a fantastic day!

I really like Carla’s pillow pattern. Would love to make a mini quilt for my quilt room! On Rafflecopter, I don’t follow her with Bloglovin but I do follow her via e-mail so I answered yes. I don’t know if that is going to work or not.

  12. That’s such a cheery cushion pattern! Yay for more pattern designers. 🙂

  13. That’s so great for Carla and her first pattern! I adore her as well and value her friendship from that very first blog-hop participation. Since I am awful at EPP and avoid hand sewing whenever humanly possible, I will leave others to try and win this lovely pattern, but it’s so cute.

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
