I was preparing a blog post to link up with the Best of 2017 Linky Party hosted by Cheryl from Meadow Mist Designs, and I realized that I have a quilt finish from 2017 that I haven’t shared about! That is very unusual for me. I figured I would share about the quilt before I posted my Best of 2017 wrap up.

Savannah Star
This 40×40 quilt is the Savannah Star, which is a free pattern that you receive as a digital download when you purchase the 2018 Quilter’s Planner. Because I made the quilt as part of my pattern editing and testing, I forgot to share it when The Quilter’s Planner announced that the pattern is available as a digital download at the end of November.

Savannah Star – Alison Glass Fabric Selection
Because Alison Glass is the featured designer for the 2018 Quilter’s Planner, I was able to select some of her beautiful Sun Prints to work with to make the quilt. Left to right they are: Sun Print Overgrown in Amaranth, Sun Print Meadow in Tide, Sun Print Link in Yonder, and Sun Print Overgrown in Cloud.

Savannah Star – Quilting Detail
I used 50wt Aurifl 2600 (Dove) to quilt an organic crosshatch. The spacing is roughly every 1/2-inch.

Savannah Star – Backing
The backing is more Sun Print Link in Yonder, and I added a hanging sleeve before I shipped the quilt to Kitty from Night Quilter so that she could do her beautiful photography for The Quilter’s Planner.

Lovely, Yvonne! And the grid quilting is perfect!
I like star quilts and this is a beauty!
Love the quilt! Happy New year to you!
I’m so glad you remembered to share this one!! You have a lot going on, so missing one comes as no surprise! Beautiful star and grid quilting!
Love seeing this quilt you made. Such pretty colors.
Another beautiful quilt. I love the colors you chose. The crosshatch quilting is so even and makes the wallhanging so pretty. Thank you for showing this to us.
Straight lines in quilting are perfect for this design, , lovely fabrics, and on the wooden wall, a few “owls’ eyes” peeking out.
Another stellar quilt! It really is gorgeous and I, too, think the fabric choices are so great. It is really a perfect wall hanging or baby quilt.
Hello Yvonne! Love the beautiful bright color fabrics and the awesome cross hatch quilting is a perfect finish for this beautiful quilt! Congratulations on another wonderful achievement! Have a Happy New Year!
Nice!

Absolutely lovely! Thanks for sharing!
The crosshatch was perfect for this quilt. Looks great!
I would like to say you saved the best for last but that wouldn’t be right since all of your quilts were wonderful and amazing this year. I really love this pattern and the fabrics you chose. And the quilting, as always, is beautiful.
it’s a pretty one Yvonne.
I love stars blocks! Yours is beautiful!
Very nice and I really like your choice of fabrics – the colors are so soothing! I confess, I need to snap out of this holiday time warp and explore my planner and start using it in the new year!
Beautiful. Kitty has great photography skills.
Beautiful quilt, I love the tight cross-hatch quilting!
A beautiful finish! The quilting is so simple, but very effective.
I found a couple of forgotten makes too. How does this happen? 🙂
