Patty from Elm Street Quilts is going to continue to host her very popular One Monthly Goal linkup in 2018. I have seen many people talk about accountability and a desire to finish projects in the #2018PlanningParty, and One Monthly Goal might be just the linkup to help you!
The basics for One Monthly Goal remain the same – pick a goal and link-up and then return at the end of the month to share your achievement. (Need more information? Read all about it on the One Monthly Goal page.)The goal can be whatever you want – any step of the process in making something with fabric, thread or yarn.
Each month, there will be a random drawing from those who joined both the finish link-up and the goal link-up to select 3 participants who will win a prize from our sponsors! Fat Quarter Shop and Make Modern magazine along with a featured designer are providing prizes each month.
But there is more!
At the end of each quarter (i.e. March, June, September & December), an extra prize will be awarded randomly from those who met their goals in any/all of the 3 months in that quarter. Aurifil and Green Fairy Quilts have provided prizes for the quarterly winners.
Finally, each time you join the linkup, you earn an entry into the Grand Finale prize drawing! Link up in the goal setting and the finish linkup each month of the year earns 24 entries into the Grand Finale prize drawing. Link up goals one month but never quite got to the finish? You still earn an entry for participating in the goal link up! Fat Quarter Shop and C&T Publishing are offering prizes for the grand finale.
In addition to the sponsors and prizes Patty has lined up, she shares information about her favorite quilt designers. I am really excited to be the Designer Highlighted in May! Thank you so much for the honor, Patty.
I look forward to seeing what we accomplish in 2018!
Thank you for sharing this one! I usually do the APQresolution for UFOs but may add this for more accountability. I have some work in Jan and Feb (an office move for a company I help out occasionally – yes another move), so I will be cautious with my goals. Have to set them up over the next day or two!
Patty’s One Monthly Goal has really grown! Look forward to your contribution in May!
Thanks for sharing this, Yvonne! I find that it really helps keep me moving forward, even if it’s simply to do the tiny thing at the end of the month to finish up whatever project I meant to enter but missed the deadline on!
Hello Yvonne; This sounds like a great inspiration and one that would really help me while I am trying to complete some unfinished quilts this year. The one thing I am not sure of is exactly when do we sign up, now or wait until Jan? Thank you for bringing this to our attention and how wonderful of you to be a sponsor!
Sign ups are at the beginning of each month, so it will be early January when it starts. Keep en eye on Patty’s blog for all the details! http://www.elmstreetquilts.com/
I’m joining OMG this year too. I’m hoping it will help level out the highs and lows of my quilting addiction. I get a ton of stuff done at once and then nothing for a long time, so I’d like to work more consistently instead. 🙂
Yvonne, thanks for being one of the featured designers for the 2018 version of One Monthly Goal. And thanks also for sharing a bit about the event on your blog! Happy new Year to you!
The One Monthly Goal has been a both a great motivator and a great learning experience. Having a focus in the sewing room each month really pays off in progress on projects. I’m definitely playing along this year.
Yvonne, thanks for the information about One Monthly. I’m especially excited to learn about the designer highlights, so I plan to join in.
Exciting, Yvonne! Looking forward to linking up with One Monthly Goal throughout the year and seeing your featured month!
