Each month the Modern Quilt Guild sends out a newsletter called the MQG Modern Monthly to its members. It contains a quilt of the month pattern, information on how to sign up for free webinars, a block of the month and quilt pattern, and more! I am really excited to share that I created the December Block of the Month (BOM): Cogs!

Cogs
Not only is there a pattern for making the block, there is a lesson and a quilt pattern, too! Members have access to the resources page that explores cropping and how to use it in a modern quilt setting.
Not a member of the Modern Quilt Guild? I have a giveaway running through Friday, December 15th at noon Eastern, where you can enter for your chance at a free individual membership!
Congrats! What an interesting block!
Great block! I really love the quilt layouts shown on the MQG site. Congratulations on having your design chosen!
How wonderful for you! I am a member, so I’ll pop on over to check it out further! Happy day!
Congrats! I saw the email from MQG and checked it out – love all your versatile layouts!
I would like to see a quilt made with this block. I’m having a difficult time visualizing it.
Joining the Modern Quilt Guild would add so much inspiration. Thanks for the chance in the giveaway. .
Hello Yvonne; I did do the Raffle for the give away. I am sorry that I can not see the newsletter and what you have done with this block, you know I am such a fan of yours! I did go and check out your face book page today also. I fell in love with your blocks from your, oh now my brain stopped, they were blue with some pink fabrics on your design board. I love the combination and your blocks are so fabulous! Looking forward to seeing it all put together also. Have a great day!
This is such an awesome and creative block, I love how the block is off center and cropped.
This is a very cool block. I bet it creates some interesting shapes for fun quilting. I’m not a member of the MQG, but I’m starting to wonder if I should be.
I saw your block in the MQG e-mail newsletter. Congratulations. I only had a quick look…will have to go back and check it out in more detail.
I love the version of the block in a quilt that looks like improv! I just might eventually try to make some sort of version of it. It looks like it would be fun to play around with.
Beautiful block and quilt! Gonna head over to MQG and check it out further!
Your block is such a cool block! 🙂
