I had a bit of a leg up this month with my December Honey Pot Bee Blocks because I am one of the queens and prepared the Hashtag is the New Plaid block to share.

Isabella from South Bay Bella Studio created another fun block for December, the Star Catcher Block. I stayed as close to her color palette as I could with my fabrics for the bee and the block came together beautifully.

Here they are on my design wall, waiting for me to play! I have a few ideas for how I might want to approach piecing the quilt top, and I’ll definitely need to spend some “play” time arranging the blocks. I’ll be sure to share a bit about my process once it becomes more than a hazy move the puzzle pieces around kind of concept.

I cannot wait to see how you fit them all together. I love an asymmetrical quilt layout, so if you don’t hurry I may drown in my own drool in anticipation 🙂

You are so good, Yvonne! I love all of your blocks, and your hashtag is the new plaid block is so clever and fun! I’m hoping to squeeze in time to make your block this month… my greenery quilt has taken a serious backseat, between Quilter’s Planner photography and stuff and then my Summer Adventure quilt. I’m tempted to extend the Greenery quilt through 2018 and continue to use it as a catch-all until I have enough blocks for a reasonable sized quilt. I’m looking forward to seeing how you fit yours together!! <3
Ooh! I love seeing them all on the design wall…I let mine fall by the wayside, and hope to go back and choose a few so I at least have a ‘sit-upon’ quilt for teaching yoga. Your hashtag is the new plaid block is clever in design and name! Read all about it on Molli. 🙂
The blocks look great all together. I have a difficult time putting together different blocks with different sizes so I am looking forward to seeing how you put the top together.
