I was really excited when I saw Cheryl from Meadow Mist Designs‘s November instructions for the Magnolia Mystery Quilt on November 2nd: Flower Units!
I spend my Sunday afternoon chain piecing the units together. I chose to do things in sets of 8. Sew 8 seams, press 8 seams, repeat.
I really love how my fabric selections came together in these units. I made the 4 Right Facing and the 4 Left Facing units first, and I resisted the urge to piece a full unit together and worked my way through the chain piecing steps.
As I was ironing the last seams on the units, I asked my husband if he thought we had any flowers still blooming in the yard. He brought me these three lovely roses (they smell even better than they look!).
I am happy to be all caught up with the Meadow Mystery quilt for another month. It’s been fun checking out everyone’s fabric combinations as the month progresses!
I love the colours you choose for Cheryl’s mystery quilt. Is the white with pink trim roses a hybrid tea?
These pieces are so pretty! Love your fabric choices.
These are so lovely! I am still in love with your fabric choices for this project and I am getting more and more excited to start putting the top together!
Your mystery quilt is coming together nicely 🙂 A Sunday full of beautiful flowers for sure.
I love the purples in your flower blocks. It is fun watching your quilt come together.
I love the fabrics you are using for this quilt!
Wow…great purples.
These are SOOOOOOOO pretty!!!
Is 8 your “lucky number”? Cheryl’s mystery quilts are always great fun to watch come together
Very pretty fabric choices! I’m really looking forward to seeing more!
Gee, don’t you run a tidy well organised sewing room! I love the colours you’ve chosen for this quilt – it should be beautiful! I hope those roses are fragrant as well as lovely.
Lovely flowers; your fabric choices were perfect. I like the peek at your workspace too – how I wish my space looked like that when I was sewing!
Pretty colours and beautifuly coordinated too (the two don’t always go together I find). I wish my sewing space looked as tidy as yours in full flow, the words hurricane and disaster come to mind.
Your blocks and the roses look wonderful!
The tips on those roses are fascinating. And your pieced flowers are very soft and pleasant colors
The colors in your blocks as well as your roses are beautiful!
I love these flower units and your colourway is just perfect!
Your color pallet is so pretty. Gorgeous blocks!
I love these. I need to get sewing before I get too far behind.
