October Honey Pot Bee Blocks

I’m running on fumes this month, you guys! How is it already October 30th?!? Ah, well, at least I can say I got my October Honey Pot Bee Blocks made in October (barely). Whew.

The two blocks this month took me a long time to piece. I don’t know if it was just my lack of ability to focus or what, but I literally worked on these 2 blocks for a week. On the left we have the Barn Bats Block, suggested by Angela from Stitchy Scientist. On the right we have the Go West Block by Kelly from Jelli Quilts.

The Barn Bats Block finishes at 18-inches square once pieced into a quilt top, and you can see it is a sizable block.

Perhaps one reason I’m late this month is that I put time and thought into the block I’m designing to share in December. Stay tuned!! 🙂

  1. How do you find time to do all this? Aha!! I know, it is “youngness” !!! as opposed to oldness, everything down here seems to be harder and take longer. Lovely new blocks added to the ones already done.

  2. the barn bat block is original! A new block? I can’t wait! I ordered my fabrics for your transparency QAL! I am late but in the race!!

This looks great together in your limited fabric palette.

  6. Barn bats look tedious and time consuming to me, so don’t feel bad! Both blocks look perfect! Well done!

I think we are all feeling it this month for some reason. Seeing all your blocks together makes me excited to see your finished top and how you lay them out. I’m living vicariously through you 🙂

  8. Both blocks look great, I really like the bats block.

Looking so good! Nice to have that 18″ block in the mix!

  10. I honestly said to myself this morning, “How is tomorrow the first of November??” It seems this month just zoomed by. Your blocks look so beautiful laid out together. You’ve done a good job of balancing the colours. I’m looking forward to seeing your block in December (which will definitely be here before we know it)!

That bat block is so interesting with its positive and negative double bats. Your blocks are coming together beautifully. Looking forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve for December!

These are looking really great, Yvonne. I loved the line about running on fumes–I feel like I do that more than I want to, but you are still amazing to get these blocks done in October. What a big collection!

  16. I love your blocks, especially all together. I look forward to seeing how you eventually put it all together.

Is this a quilt pattern you are selling? Have you finished the quilt?

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
