Wayward Transparency QAL: 14 Days and Counting!

We are officially halfway through the fabric selection phase for the Wayward Transparency Quilt Along. I purposefully left this open long enough for discussion, thought, and fabric deliveries to occur. I am really excited by the groupings people are sharing in the Quilting Jetgirl Facebook group. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment or email or share in the Facebook Group.

I have the fabric for my third version of Wayward Transparency selected and in hand… but before I share, here is an exciting update!

I am thrilled that Studio 37 | Marcus Fabrics has agreed to sponsor the Quilt Along! They are offering (4) winners a fat quarter bundle of Sarah J‘s Shout line!

Wayward Transparency - Fabric Selection

Wayward Transparency – Fabric Selection

Speaking of Sarah J, after creating my second version of Wayward Transparency in some of her lovely prints, I couldn’t get the blue colorway option out of my mind. I have chosen to use the fabric in her Sky Wayward colorway kit, but I will be going in the opposite direction this time: from dark to light!

I know that many of you are counting down the days to October 13th and the release of the Cutting Instructions; I think it will be here before we know it!

Good idea to leave that longer period Yvonne for delivery etc . I fell behind in my kal before it even started as I couldn’t source the right needle locally

I am enjoying everyone’s fabric selections on FB. Regretfully, I’m going to have to put my efforts on hold while I migrate south. Will settle in Tx for the winter the first week in Dec., when I hope to be able to get started and catch up. I’ll be away from a machine for a whole month….woe is me! You are doing an amazing job putting this all together and keeping it moving. I’m pleased with the response and am looking forward to watching it grow.

  3. How generous of Marcus Fabrics! I ‘think’ I have made my final selection of fabrics but I still need to apply the black/white test. Anxious to see your dark to light reversed!

  4. I thought about darker being the main fabric, but have decided on the pale mauve, lovely blues, this is going to be a superb QAL. 13 days, as we say down here ” Whacko”!!!

  5. Izzy says:

I’ve got my fabric all selected and ready to go! I’m also going with blue for mine and using all solids. I cannot wait to get started!

  6. I have my fabric, but I need to post a photo. And get it washed before cutting begins. Kudos on the sponsors.

  7. Woohoo, I can’t wait to start cutting!

  8. Jean says:

I may have enough of my fabric to make both light to dark and dark to light. Solves the dilemma of deciding one or the other

  9. Lisa says:

The picked up the last of my fabric at the post office today . I’m saving opening it till tomorrow as I was out this evening. It will be a nice way to start the day.

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
