It’s that time of year again: Cheryl from Meadow Mist Designs has her annual mystery quilt along up and running! This is the second month in the series, and Cheryl released the Magnolia Mystery Cutting Instructions last Thursday (aka there is still lots of time to consider joining in and sewing along with us!).
The cutting went nice and smoothly for me. I just got a new self healing cutting mat and I put on a fresh olfa blade on my rotary cutter. It was smooth and delightful! I spent about 1 hour and 15 minutes getting all my fabric cut and ready for September.
I am still slightly amazed at the fabrics I selected for the mystery quilt this year, but I am really liking them together.
Beautiful fabrics you have chosen for the magnolia mystery quilt! Can’t wait to see your progress!
A new mat and blade a good combo for some serious cutting. Your fabric choices are going to make a beautiful quilt.
Those are beautiful fabrics and I think they will look wonderful together. Prepping is so much more enjoyable when you are using a fresh rotary blade. Isn’t your favorite color blue? Purple is just red blue 🙂
They aren’t your normal colours are they….although I think I’ve spied a few quilts on your blog lately using these colours. They look perfect on your floor.
Every time I change my blade, I always wonder why I waited to so long; it’s so nice to have a clean cut! I have my fabrics, but haven’t cut them yet. We’re moving our daughter to Florida this weekend, so the cutting is scheduled for next week.
Oops — meant to add that I really like the colors you’ve chosen! Can’t wait to see the quilt take shape!
This is going to be so berry-licious, Yvonne! 🙂
I love your fabric picks!
Yvonne, I love your color palette. I have my fabrics but haven’t gotten them cut yet.
I love the colors you selected. Very cheerful! And I appreciate the reminder to change out my own blade before I start cutting up my fabric!
Hello Yvonne. Great selection of fabrics you have chosen; they will make a magnificent quilt! I really had to think about whether I could do this QAL with the way life is going and after much thought, decided not to take on this one. So, I will just watch you, in all of your glory, put this quilt together and have fun that way! Thank you for sharing and have a great day!
I love your selection. Looking forward to seeing it come together! 🙂
Congrats on getting them all cut. It’s a fun color palette to play with.
Love your colours.
