Wayward Transparency Quilt Along {Coming Soon}

Thank you so much to everyone who weighed in with enthusiasm and suggestions for a Quilt Along based on my question at the bottom of my post on Sunday. To recap, I asked:

I had originally tentatively planned to host another Quilt Along starting in September, but life has pulled me in many different directions lately. How would people feel about a low key Triangle Transparency quilt along? Or is there another one of my quilt patterns that might speak to you more?

There was a pretty good enthusiasm for giving a transparency design a try via a Quilt Along (along with a handful of other pattern requests). The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I would be more excited to share a new design and I have one that would work pretty darn well.

So, stay tuned. I will be sharing more details (including the quilt design) in the upcoming weeks as I work to pull the Wayward Transparency Quilt Along together.

The things I can guarantee are:

  1. The kickoff will be in September,
  2. you will have a good amount of time (~1 month) to make your fabric selection,
  3. I will be more than happy to talk fabric selection and help you feel confident with your fabric!,
  4. there will be size / layout options for you to chose from,
  5. and the Quilting Jetgirl Facebook Group will be a great place for us to share our photos along the way.

  1. WTQA,,, Wow, I am thrilled to read this. I really thought that a QAL might not be happening here, and the longer time frames will be so helpful.. After the 12 days of Christmas, I have a huge and much more realistic understanding of writing and photographing a tutorial, and mine was really so small. Then the proof reading, again and again.So, I give you a hearty cheer for this. Many thanks, and a new pattern as well. We are so fortunate.

  2. Can’t wait to hear more about it!

  8. Oooh, I love a quilt with movement and this one has it in spades!!

    My fall is looking crazy at the moment, but if I can swing another project, I would love to participate in this quilt along. Fingers crossed 😉

    And I am sure the new design will be just a cool as the original…if not better!!

    When picking out fabric for a transparency project, is it best to stay with solids? Also, knowing you like space related material, MSQC has a lot of fabric available that they posted today, FYI. I’m looking forward to the QAL. Thanks for putting it together.

  12. Is the blog button what the quilt will look like? I’ve really been into transparent designs lately. This looks like fun!

  20. Yvonne, I have to tell you that my interest is peaked. I’ve been wanting to make a quilt with an on-point design, and I love the color scheme of your mock-up. I’ve already got a lot going on, so I’m not sure, but please know that I’m thinking about it 🙂
