After my first Busy Bag went together well enough, I immediately made plans to made a second bag for Sadie’s Dream for a Cure. I made my fabric pull and submitted a request online for a label to stitch on to the front pocket. And then I made the second version of my Layered Diamonds quilt last week and decided I was going to change directions entirely and use up the rest of this really lovely astronaut / space / UFO print from Michael Miller. It was a very happy change in plans!
I learned a few things from my first time assembling the bag, and the second bag came together much more easily. It’s really fun to see how quickly I acquired new skills, and I could tell there was progress with the construction of the second bag.
This second bag might be harder for me to give away (I just love the rockets, planets, UFOs, and astronauts!), but my buddy Puppy the Cat seems to think the first bag is pretty sweet. Puppy weighs about 11 pounds these days, and the bag picked him up with ease. I will take a lint roller and tape to the bags before I send them out to make them as fur free as is possible in my home.
I struggled to get a photograph of the interior of the first bag for my first blog post, so I thought I would show off the inside of both bags today. Both these bags will be cleaned up and shipped off early this week. I really enjoyed stretching myself to learn something new, and I hope they brighten up a child’s day.
