May is for Makers is all about supporting independent makers. I am probably stretching things a bit but I’m calling this fabric acquisition from Bernie of Needle and Foot Fine Fabrics a part of my May is for Makers acquisitions.
Sunday Stash – Rainbow on White and Hip to be Square by Kim Schaefer for Andover from Needle and Foot Fine Fabrics
The Freefall QAL is moving right along (I do still have 6 blocks to piece but have made a small amount of progress on that… more later this week), and I found options for backing and binding the quilt from Bernie. I am currently thinking that the Hip to be Square will be the backing and the Rainbow on White will be the binding.
Sunday Stash – Rainbowy Goodness
I really love the Rainbow on White print, and I contacted Bernie to see if she had more than just fat quarters in stock. She let me know that she only had 2 FQs remaining, so I bought what I could. To my delight, I actually received the fabric as a full 1/2 yard cut because Bernie knew I had been looking for yardage. Taking the time to talk with small shop owners is so beneficial for everyone in the end. Thanks for the fabulous customer service, Bernie!

I purchased a few yards of fabric from Bernie and will do so more often once I get through some of the stash I have on hand. She is great to buy from.
great choices, I have the first 2 of the half and half leaf blocks done, next 2 ready to go. Serious concentration needed. That rainbow strips will be wonderful for a binding, bright and those colours would go with anything.

Oh they will be perfect for your freefall backing and binding. I love it when shops deliver fq as yardage, took me a while in the early days to twig with that
