Sandra @mmmquilts! published the second set of piecing instructions for the Freefall QAL last Monday, April 17th. Piecing the second set of leaf blocks went so much quicker after learning the block in the first step.
I opted for paper piecing the Shadow Leaf corner unit blocks, and I love how on their own they have a very Star Trek vibe to them!
Here are the blocks I have pieced to date…
Only a few more blocks to piece before it’s time to play with how the blocks will be arranged in the final layout! Linking up with the Freefall Link Up #3.
your starry fabric looks so good, and those brights, a perfect choice for each set.
I like the star trekky point, they all look great.
I’m so excited for the next set of instructions on Monday. I’m just in love with your fabrics and can’t wait to see it all come together. With the Star Trek vibe, your quilt will boldly go where no quilt has gone before 🙂 I had to through a quote in there 🙂
I love the fabrics you have chosen for this quilt. I know i’ve told you this before but at each step along the way I just keep loving them more and more.
Lookin’ great!
These blocks are looking so lovely! I love the rainbow palette rather than a monochromatic palette — it is quite unexpected!
Hi Yvonne, love your blocks and thought they look so Jetgirl before I saw your comment about Star Trek. This QAL has been fun, thanks for inspiring me to join. I just wanted you to know that your link to the QAL is not working and I just checked Sandra’s blog and don’t see your posting.
ooh that’s looking nice and yes very star trek in my eyes too!
I love the leaf design and the color’s your using, I can’t wait to see the final flimsy.
I am just SO tickled that you joined in, and so in LOVE (drooling, no lie) over your fabrics! Just a few more days for the last 6 blocks, can’t believe it! Love the Star Trek vibe, aka nod to space, Jet Girl, that you have! 🙂
This is going to be gorgeous. Love the background fabric.
The colors you are using looks so brilliant. It is going to be lovely.
Well now I’m really curious to see what happens next.
Looking good, Yvonne! Great to see the new AG fabric used in a project!
These are looking great, Yvonne. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt. Are you thinking of borders? I have not made up my mind.
Beautiful blocks! Love those brights with the black.
I do like the Star Trek-ness of what you have done so far! It’s going to be beautiful! I’m not participating in this QAL but I have really loved seeing all the variations. Leaves are so fabulous!
