I have to admit that I came home from QuiltCon and hit the ground running. Sure, I took a nap on Wednesday and another nap on Thursday, but I went straight back to my life routine: going to the gym in the afternoons, general household catch-up, and I jumped in and finished the quilt that I had left for myself to complete as Step 1 on my post-QuiltCon to-do list. On Saturday afternoon and evening, I went to a going away party for friends. My body finally rebelled against the lack of rest and recuperation on Sunday. I have a full blown head cold, I have lost my voice, and I am well and truly going to have to take some R&R this week. I’m not complaining, though; I plan on stocking up on some Vitamin C and good old fashioned rest early this week. I do have some plans for upcoming tutorials that I am excited about, so once I get my voice back we’ll see if my video recording ideas can come together! Yippee!
Did you see Kerry from Penny Dog Patchwork’s Starch Substitute mini tutorial last week? I thought it was a lovely solution! My husband and I are also very scent sensitive, so I appreciated her DIY approach to getting what works best for her.
Kerry’s post also reminded me of the Homemade Spray Starch tutorial shared by Becky from Patchwork Posse. I believe my friend Renee from Quilts of a Feather makes a very similar recipe (if not the exact same) that Becky shares and since I have worked with Renee in the past, I can attest that her blocks are very nice after using the homemade spray starch.
Since I will be taking it a bit easy this week, I am doubly looking forward to living vicariously through you and enjoying the tips and tutorials you have to link up this week!
