December Meadow Mystery Quilt

I’ve said it before, and I will probably say it again, but the great thing about Cheryl @Meadow Mist Designs Mystery Quilt Alongs is the pace. She releases new instructions on the first Thursday of each month. Sometimes I can make early in the month, and some months I’m glad for some extra time.

December Meadow Mystery Quilt Blocks

This month was a lot of fun because we got to move from piecing small units into piecing them together into (9) larger blocks.

And since 9 blocks make easy 3×3 play, why not explore different arrangements, right? I’m sure they will be used in a very clever manner. For now, I’m grateful to be caught up again!

I have had a lot of fun seeing all of the different “suggested arrangements” that people have posted in the Facebook group! I am interested to see where we go next since we don’t have any finished 12 inch blocks that incorporate fabrics A nor B! And then there’s those mysterious strips… 🙂

I like your play with layout. Several of your arrangements have movement and sparkle. I like the serendipity of “play”.

Love the way you did Cheryl’s mystery quilt. The negative space gives it an infinitely new quilt. Congratulations with you that and your 2017 goals. Beginning to take off on the latter. Hopefully, I will be sewing in a week. Had shoulder surgery. This is a good time to catch up on thinking about goals and posts.

  11. Your blocks look great! It is so much fun seeing all of the different arrangements!

  12. Very cool fabric choices- you will surely have abundant negative space to play with. I have enjoyed watching quilters try to guess what the layout will be like. I am not making the quilt but I am pretty excited to see the final layout.

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
