Honey Pot Bee Fabric Pull {Sunday Stash}

I thought I had a bit more time to figure out what fabric I wanted to use for the Honey Pot Bee and then, bam! Molli went and threw in an early Wild Card Surprise last Wednesday! I had a full week, but I was able to at least accomplish going through my stash and curating my fabric pull for the bee for next year. I went with all solids, everything came from my stash, and I’m thinking the continuity of color and the use of solids should go a long way for making the variety of blocks created next year work as a cohesive grouping (well, fingers crossed anyway).

Left to Right my selections are: Eggshell, Shell, Salmon, Hyacinth, Berry, Bluegrass, and Oasis. There is at least 2 yards of the Eggshell available, and varying amounts of all the others. I will definitely let myself pull coordinating colors or tones if the need comes up, but having these set aside for use for the bee next year feels like a great start to me for now!

Linking up with Sunday Stash.

  1. What a lovely grouping. You definitely have a way with colors. I haven’t done my pull yet. This is like the 14th project I’m considering for my Alison Glass collection. It’s probably overcommitted at this point!

    I am so tempted by this relaxed bee and your fabric pull isn’t helping me resist the temptation at all! Great choices!

    Another beautiful fabric pull Yvonne! I’m excited to see much more from The Honey Pot Bee!

  4. I’m using solids too…’great minds’!! This will be my first time to use all solids so I’m pretty excited…I guess I better get to pulling my fabrics together!

  5. You pulled a delightful purple, so obviously, you’re good ; )

    Love the fabric pull. It’s very happy looking. I haven’t even given it a thought. Although I’m up to my eyeballs in other things and may not do the whole thing anyhow…….which is why I like it …..no pressure.

    Very pretty. I did this sort of pull for my guild BOM last year, and though I had to purchase more of a couple of colors along the way, it was perfect in theory.

    Lovely! I agree that consistent colors used in the varied blocks will make them more cohesive. I like your range of lights and darks – lots of possibilities there.

    Molli is one sneaky quilter! Your pull is wonderful–even as a surprise event!

  13. You have a great eye for picking fabric bundles. I would not have thought to combine these colors and usually play it safe and go with only 2-3 colors. These are going to look wonderful in a quilt.

  14. I love your colors! 🙂

    Love you choice in colours. Who says you need prints to make a statement.

    Tish just explained Molli’s bee idea to me; I haven’t been over to his blog for a bit…sounds like a pretty cool idea and one I will check out. Great colour combination!

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
