Fabric

Sunday Stash {10/16/2016}

Looking over my (slightly way too long) to-do list, I decided to go ahead and make a few strategic purchases this week so that I will be prepared to work on projects as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

Artisan Spirit Shimmer in Fuchsia from BackSide Fabrics

When I got an email from BackSide Fabrics announcing a one day only sale on Monday, I went ahead and picked up a wide quilt backing for the Plus Banner quilt that I hope to have finished in time to gift to my niece, who is happily anticipated and expected at the end of November / early December.

50wt Aurifil

And planning ahead for quilting quite a few upcoming quilts, I placed another order of 50wt Aurifil thread from Hawthorne Threads as well. Left to right in the photo above are: 2235 (Orange), 2220 (Light Salmon), 2420 (Fleshy Pink), 1128 (Light Blue Violet), and 2630 (Pewter).

Well, back to working through my large to-do list!

Linking up to Sunday Stash.

  1. To totally be an enabler, craftsy is having their fall sale where their large spoils of 50wt are $7 and change. So far I have resisted but I feel my resolve faltering.

  2. I would have been there on Monday too, if only I lived up North. Never mind, I can see your choices and what a stunning purple fabric you have. Fuchsia is a better name.

    Love the fabric you picked. Good luck on the list.

  4. That Artisan Shimmer fabric is so beautiful. I have it in black and used it for the background of a baby quilt, but the purple is such a beautiful shade.

    Large to do lists seem to be a bit of a theme lately. Love that Aurifil. I just might me an Aurifil junkie.

  6. LOL, it must be in the air! I got my Backside Fabrics order last week, and am excitedly waiting for orders from Craftsy and Connecting Threads to show up this week.

  7. Good Morning Yvonne! The fabric you chose is gorgeous. Have a great time with the quilting. Thank you for sharing and have a fantastic creative day!

    the backing fabric looks to have a gorgeous textured effect. Your collection of aurifil is fairly building up too.

  10. Those threads are so yummy! Is that for the QDAD quilt?

    I popped over to take a peek at the top of the quilt you are backing that up to and it is so gorgeous! Your niece is one lucky girl. I just ordered some aurifil thread and it got lost in the mail… it decided to take the trip of a lifetime before it goes into some pretty quilts and it went on an excursion to PR it will finally be arriving tomorrow morning! It was supposed to be a 2 day delivery time, I hope you got a good chuckle I know I did after the initial very upset where the heck is my thread I need it to keep working post to the poor person I ordered it from, when we found out it got lost and where it ended up all I could do is start joking!

    I’m seriously drooling over those spools of thread. I’m kind of wishing they will all land in the same quilt together 🙂
