I am working on 2 quilts that I won’t be able to share for a while. Hopefully I will find some time to sneak in quilting on a few quilt tops that I have waiting on the side, but perhaps not this week. This week I will be preparing to teach my second quilting class on Saturday on piecing Triangle Transparency! The class is being held at Bolts in the Bathtub in Lancaster, California (if you are interested and able to attend, sign ups are in person in the store or via a phone call).
Quilts of Valor – Quilt Block Drive
I wanted to let you know of a really great opportunity: Alycia @Alycia Quilts is collecting quilt blocks for Quilts of Valor. She has done this for over 11 years, and award over 600 quilts a year – so she would really appreciate and love any help we can give. This year, Alycia is asking for a quilt block designed by Jan O. @The Colorful Fabriholic, another wonderful online friend. I might see if I can sneak in some time this week to make a few blocks. I’m sure I have plenty of fabric that would work.
There are only a few remaining spots in the Second Alison Glass Charm Swap. As of late on Sunday night, there are only 5 spots available, so if you are interested, check out all the details of the Alison Glass Charm Swap Group 2 and be sure to go to the bottom of the post to open the spreadsheet to sign up!
What is going on in your world this Monday? I am hoping for a productive and fun sewing afternoon.
I found a quilting fabric shop down here in NZ that stocks the Alison Glass fabric.Wow, what a range.
I hope you have a fun and productive day of sewing too Yvonne! 🙂 Sounds like your swap is a success – congratulations!
Looks like you are going to have a very productive day, me not so much today, but the hopefully the rest of the week looks good for more hand quilting!
It was a public holiday Monday here but, sadly, I didn’t get any sewing done. 🙁 I am glad you did.
You know we don’t like secrets Yvonne!! I’m hoping this monday will include some quilting and not cleaning! I’m so thrilled your Alison Glass Swap has taken off! Love her fabric and if the payoff is a beautiful stack in the end…lucky ladies!
Thanks for the shout-out, Yvonne! I hope Alycia gets lots of blocks for her QOV block drive. And I hope you get to enjoy your Monday afternoon sewing.
The only thing I don’t like about secret sewing is that it is a secret 🙂 We will wait patently until you can share. Thanks for the heads up on Alycia’s block drive. If I can squeak in some more piecing time, I will try to make a few blocks to send.
Secret sewing is no fun 🙁 Good luck on teaching your next class!
I’m sure you’re excited about class #2. Can’t wait to see what you’re working on, whenever you are able to share it.
Have fun with your secret project and your class. My last class had to be rescheduled. Only one person signed up.
Oh I look forward to seeing your secrets!! and have fun teaching – Bolts and Bathtubs is quite a unique name 😉 Thanks for the QOV shout out!! I sure appreciate it
