My good friend Stephanie @Late Night Quilter started a fabulous weekly link party about two years ago that she called Tips and Tutorials Tuesday. I thought the premise of the link up was fantastic: to encourage bloggers to remember to write down their lessons learned, tips, and create tutorials to share and grow the quilting community. I enthusiastically participated and always looked forward to seeing what others would link up. I don’t remember if I had a tutorial before her link up, but I now have 58 free tutorials!
With Stephanie’s dedication to the creation of The Quilter’s Planner (have you pre-ordered your 2017 version yet? I can’t wait to get mine!!), her time to dedicate to hosting the link party decreased significantly (hosting a link party takes time and work!). After the Thoughts on Quilting Blogs blog post I made earlier this week and subsequent lovely discussions I have had with many of you, I approached Stephanie to see if I could help revive the link party, and I am thrilled to say that we will be collaborating together to bring it back!
We are going to start off slow and build momentum. The link party dates through the end of the year will be:
- Tuesday, October 4th – Link Party Open 4 weeks
- Tuesday, November 1st – Link Party Open 2 weeks
- Tuesday, November 15th – Link Party Open 3 weeks
- Tuesday, December 6th – Link Party Open 4 weeks
And starting in 2017 we will ramp up to hosting every week! So dust off your thinking caps, look at your schedule, and let’s make a plan to write up some helpful tip or tutorial posts and share them. I can’t wait to open the Tips and Tutorials Tuesday link party on October 4th, I hope you join us!
Yvonne, I can’t wait to see what is coming. The two of you teaming up certainly sounds like a winner (for us)!!! Thanks for your hard work.
the two o you joining together is a great idea on the link party! Looking forward!
I sure am looking forward to this party. I can use all the tips and tutorials to improve my skills.
Yvonne, thank you for adding this to your blog. I always look forward to tips on improving my quilting and sewing life.
I received your blog etiquette notes in the early email and didn’t get a chance to comment. You made excellent points. I really appreciate that you take the time to read my comments and actually comment back. I feel like I am interacting with my granddaughter instead of a blog wall. Thank you!
Joining forces!! An unbeatable combination I think!
Very cool!
This is going to be fun. Thanks to you and Stephanie.
I love it when there are collaborations in quilt blog land – glad you are keeping this linky going!
Good Morning Yvonne! This sounds like a fun linky party! I will most likely miss the very first one with the wedding only 4 days away at that time, but sure will be nice to get back to normal once again after that. LOL. I just learned a really neat trick so will have at least have one thing to share! Yeah…… well have a great time with Stephanie getting it all set up and I know with the two of you it will be magnificent! Have a fantastic creative day!
Wooo Whooo! Glad to hear this linky party is coming back. I think I starting following it about the time she started getting super busy last year. It’s always good to learn from others.
I think this is a fabulous idea!!! I enjoy learning from all the other bloggers.
Hi Yvonne! I’m always ready for a good party (quilting party)! I hope there will be lots of links and I do my best to join and spread the word! x Teje
What a great link party! I don’t know if I will be quite ready to share any tips yet, but I will certainly be ready to read them!
I was just contemplating making a tutorial (my first ever) for a Halloween project… looks like the stars are lining up in the right way))) Thank you so much!
This is a great idea Yvonne. I’m glad the two of you are working together on this. And yest I’ve ordered my planner.
Can’t wait to see what you two have up your sleeves! 🙂
Yay! I really liked this link-up. I got into it and started writing Tuesday posts, then it disappeared. So happy to see that it’s being revived! Thank you for taking on the challenge!
Yay! Glad to here this linky party up is back in business. Just wrote the dates down so I can link with you guys.
Great! I wasn’t aware of this in the past so I’m looking forward to it. Thanks for adding it to your blog.
Woohoo, this is awesome! This was always one of my favorite linky parties and I am so glad you are working with Stephanie to bring it back.
Sounds good Yvonne. I enjoyed this link up when Stephanie had it going. Nice to see it will be brought back.
Hello! Long time blog stalker, first time blogger —
I would love to participate in the link party… I feel dumb for asking but, how do you go about joining a link party. Do I put the code into my post of the Tuesday tip on the scheduled date? I’m so sorry to ask, I’ve tried to figure it out asking my old friend Mr. Google. No luck. I think this will be so much fun! Thanks!
Yvonne, Thank you for all you do to support and encourage quilting bloggers! I think I would be lost without your advice for new bloggers resources. Abbie
That’s wonderful that you are able to collaborate with Stephanie on this. Looking forward to it!
Sounds wonderful Yvonne.
Good idea – may it be very successful.
