I honestly did not sew up my Rainbow Rose quilt top until the instructions came out this week, but I was definitely excited to do so!
The photos of the quilt top taped to my large sliding glass door don’t do much to show you how well the quilt top came together, but they sure are stained glass like glowing fun!
I did debate about whether I would enlarge the small quilt size beyond 40 x 40, but in the end, I decided that I would use up some rainbow fabric I have in my stash for the backing and binding, and 40 x 40 is going to be every last bit of the stripe fabric I have for the backing.
The next link up is not until July 20th, so hopefully I can get this quilt finished in plenty of time to share and link up for the grand finale.
Linking up with the Rainbow Rose QAL.
Lovely fun backing to go with your beautiful Rainbow top! Have you ideas for quilting it?
Beautiful just beautiful. Will wait patiently for July 20th.
I am so glad you decided to put the warm and cool colors all together instead of opposite each. It pleases the organizing side of me. It just seems more balanced and harmonious. And the colors are so rich and bright! I’ve really enjoyed watching this come together.
Good Morning Yvonne! I keep learning from you, which is so magnificent! While choosing colors in fabrics, I seldom think about warm and cold but seeing these fabrics in this beautiful layout it just all makes sense! Plus, having them hanging on your window for the stained glass effect does come across really does bring out the differences in the tones; thank you for showing this layout, I really appreciate it, learned a lot and it truly is beautiful! The rainbow fabric that you have chosen for the backing fabric is adorable and will make such a fun backing; I can not wait to see how you choose to quilt it! Have a fantastic creative day!
Looks great! And your backing/binding fabrics are to envy)) I was also tempted to take a stained-glass picture of mine when I was pressing it, but the sun disappeared before I could do it))
I love stain glass looking pictures of quilt tops. This is looking beautiful! And those are great choices for backing and binding. What’s funny is the pictures I have take of my top look very similar. A storm had just went through and I tried snapping pictures of it on the cloths line. The wind would not cooperate so I just held a corner and snapped some up close shots 🙂
Beautiful! I love your fabric choices for front, back and binding. Your piecing is engineered precision–so excellent!

Love the top on the glass door – it really shimmers. The backing is going to be perfect for this. Look forward to seeing how you quilt it.
