Sunday Stash {5/22/2016}

Last week, Sandra @mmmquilts pointed out that Craftsy had a good sale going on Aurifil thread. I tried to resist… but then as I was working earlier this week, I noticed that I was almost out of my go to piecing thread: 50wt Aurifil 2600 (Dove). Figuring the sale was over, I went to check… and ended up buying 6 large spools of 50wt thread. I mean, I had to justify the shipping cost, right?

Left to Right: Dove (2600), Silver White (2309), Dove (2600), Green (2870), Dark Cobalt (2740), and Eggplant (4225).

Once I was committed to buying the Aurifil, I was a bit sad I hadn’t ordered sooner and missed out on some of the colors that were already sold out.

Sandra is a dangerous enabler. 🙂 Linking up with Sunday Stash.

    Usually I miss out on the deals! A day late or a dollar short! Have you ever thought about buying a cone of your favorite pieceing thread color? Just curious! I wish I had every color of thread, if nothing else…just to look at!

  2. Good Morning Yvonne! Sorry that you missed out on some of the thread choices you wanted. Yet, you did get some very pretty threads. I like the way that you photographed them, it is charming and fun. But now you are ready to gorgeously quilt some more quilts. I hope that you have a fantastic creative day!

  3. So glad I didn’t know about this sale otherwise I would have made a serious dent in my checking account I’m sure.

    only you could photograph spools of thread so invitingly Yvonne. Isn’t there something moreish about Aurifil threads? So far I have bought a few but keep them for Sunday Best for some daft reason (probably their cost)

  5. Yummy Aurifil! I went looking for white and by the time I got there they were all out 🙁

    Sandra is a dangerous enabler…but she’s fun 🙂 Beautiful scores though. Nothing makes me happier than a pyramid of Aurifil Thread.

    Judy told me you had been doing some name-calling! LOL! I’m with Helen; I seem to save the few spools of Aurifil I do have…but I do love Dove 2600 and a soft yellow 2315 that I’ve used more than half of, a great blender-in for quilting on all fabric colours. Those are glorious photos of thread; hope you tagged Alex so he could see 😉

  8. Of course you have to justify those shipping costs. 🙂 I do the same thing. Great Sunday Stash!

    LOL!! I totally laughed out loud when you said “Sandra is a dangerous enabler.” I agree 100%! She has enabled many purchases but they typically turn into pretty things 🙂

    Loving the Aurifil picks. I resisted but really wish I had not. . . Great deal and there is nothing better than getting a package full of Aurifil! Your picks are spectacular!

    Well you did get some good colors! How much did you end up paying per spool?

    I tell myself that if it’s stuff I will definitely useitis just good practice to get it at the best possible price! Lovely colours.

  12. Aurifil Dove is one of those essentials, like bread and milk.
