On January 4th, I introduced the concept of supporting Quilting Jetgirl through Patreon. I am so grateful for my Patrons: those who have pledged their support. The beginning of April marked the third month of this system, and it unlocked one of the rewards for several patrons. So I spent the beginning of this week making custom mini mini quilts to send to my patrons as a token of my gratitude and thanks.
Each mini mini quilt was a fun design challenge, and I was definitely given a lot of room to play and explore with my favorite color (blue!).
I experimented with quilting using 12wt Aurifil thread on several of these mini mini quilts. I found that Olive (my domestic / Bernina 820) will straight line stitch with 12wt with a larger needle (I used a 100|14), but she was not going to free motion quilt with the thicker thread. In all cases I used 50wt Aurifil in the bobbin.
7 little quilts… and they don’t even fill up my 12″ x 18″ cutting mat!
So what’s the big deal about my Patrons? Well, because of their support I recently upgraded my blog and migrated to be self-hosted through WordPress.org. And my first batch of test printed paper patterns will be delivered next week. Those were both big goals for me this year, which I have already achieved before 1/3rd of the year is over.
It is with deep thanks and gratitude that I created these mini mini quilts, and I am excited to mail them off to their new homes.

These are all so lovely! My fav is the blue tones all merging and the pop of white thread on the navy blue binding 🙂 Such lovely gifts for your Patrons!
All of those are adorable and it’s great that you could do some experimentation with different thread weights. I’ve not gotten adventurous enough for that yet. My favorite in the group – the one that looks like ocean waves in the center.
Love these new mini minis! It sounds like your campaign was successful. I think I should make a few more mini minis. I can’t believe I said that — I’m not a fan of small sewing. LOL
Wow, I love the intricacy in a few of these! One of them reminds me of “Tetris”, an old school video game. The green one is my favorite tho – I love all things green!
I love all those little mini-minis and can’t wait to see mine. I tried using 28 weight aurifil in free motion quilting and it didn’t work out. I didn’t try straight and didn’t try the 100 needle. Will have to combine those two next try.
Congrats on achieving one of your goals! Plus, what a special way to say thank you. Each of these individual mini quilts are unique and really pretty. The green fabrics are so brilliant and springy I noticed it right away and upon looking closer the way that you made your polka dots the exact same size as the ones in the fabric is awesome! Of course, each is a brilliant creation! Thank you for sharing and have a fantastic creative day!
How awesome that your patron program is working out well so well. I’m sure each precipitant will love the mini mini you created for them.
You have accomplished so much, Yvonne! Your community is such a kind and thoughtful one – I’m blessed to consider myself a part of it. I’m glad to hear that you’ve found new ways to continue to do what you do. Those minis are so cool!
Congratulations on meeting your goals. I am so excited for you. Your mini mini quilts are all unique and amazing. I can just sit and study each one.
Beautiful work Yvonne! Your little minis make me smile! Congratulations on meeting two big goals!
I’m glad this has gone well for you and I know your patrons will be delighted with their reward
They are all awesome Yvonne. I want about 4 of them! We are all going to be so happy!
Still after all these months…I get excited when I see mini mini’s! All these are beautiful and look like so much fun to make. Congrats on hitting your goals. It isn’t easy, but you’ve managed very well to achieve your goal!
Exciting! They are all pretty! Well done!
Congratulations with your goals! And what a lovely grouping of mini minis – especially the ‘wavy’ blue one!
These are all so pretty! My favorite is the watery one with the layers of fabric and wavy quilting, followed closely with the flow quilting one!
Congratulations on meeting your goals already. Your tiny quilts look great grouped together like that.
Yay for achieving two mammoth goals by April!
I never would have guessed that your favourite colour is blue. OK, so maybe I might have figured that out. 🙂
