To wrap up this week, I have a fun tutorial today over on Sew Mama Sew: Dancing Diamonds. You know I have a love for transparency play within my designs, and Dancing Diamonds is another pattern that you could use to explore the technique. In fact, you might recognize the grayscale fabric bundle used in the project. 🙂 One nice feature of the Dancing Diamonds block is that it is made entirely from Half Square Triangles (HSTs), which makes the block easy to scale into different sizes.
As an extra incentive for you to hop over and check out the tutorial, I am giving away a copy of the Beacon Digital PDF pattern through the Sew Mama Sew website. So be sure to visit Sew Mama Sew for details on how to enter to win!
And if you missed it, below are all the details and links you need to check out the amazing Beacon quilts that were featured this week. <3

While on Bloglovin’ this morning, I was so excited to see you were guest posting at Sew Mama Sew again. Beautiful quilt and perfect tutorial Yvonne – thanks for sharing it with us!
Woo hoo! Congrats on your SMS guest post. Love the monochromatic color scheme
Ooh, this is lovely! What a fun quilt!
Now I know for what all those grays were intended that you ordered awhile back! Great transparency design!
I follow Sew Mama Sew with the wonderful tutorials and great variety of projects that are always being presented by so many talented people! Your Diamond pattern will be so much fun to put together for a quilt or two that I need to do. The fabrics that you chose to use are brilliant and make such a unique and soft (for the eyes). I keep trying to find the right descriptive word or two and it just will not come into my damaged brain. So, basically, I just love it! Thank You for sharing and have a fantastic creative day!
Simple and beautiful!!
This looks like a really fun beginner project, and a new way to use up HST!
Love the greys though I can see lots of options with this – great post on SMS!
love yours
Woohoo! Go Yvonne! <3
It was great to see all the variations of the Beacon quilt. I need to check out this Dancing Diamonds…very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Love the Dancing Diamonds quilt. I can see it done in different colours. oh no I think I see a squirrel coming.
Yvonne, Dancing Diamonds really caught my eye! Love the gray pallet. The way you
positioned the shades gives the quilt a lot of depth and movement. I am adding this to
my to do list. Love it!
Love your Dancing Diamonds quilt, especially in the grey scale.
HST’s are so versatile! Love it 🙂
You did such a good job putting the grays together. And I really like this design with the zig zag going vertical.
I really like this design, it’s been too long since I did anything with HSTs, and I could see this working with lots of different fabrics. You have me thinking now…
