Renee @Quilts of a Feather – Queen Quilt Version of Beacon
Today, Renee @Quilts of a Feather is sharing about her queen quilt version of the Beacon pattern. Renee made this quilt as a wedding gift for her sister and brother-in-law, and I am once again in awe of her domestic free motion quilting skills and stamina. Do you see the ghost angles she quilted in? I am excited to see more details today on her blog!

The Beacon pattern is on sale in my Craftsy and Etsy stores for $7 for two weeks (through April 3rd).
The green version is very cool, I do like the ghosted angles she added.
I’m glad you like the ghost angles! I was nervous that they would change your vision of the design too much or somehow interrupt the meaning! :-*
Good Morning Yvonne! I think that you picked wonderful quilters to test your pattern; each one has done a fabulous job in creating it and quilting it. LOL. I am so glad that you did not chose me, I could have made the top( I have no doubt in that from the way everyone praises the way you take the time to write precise clear instructions) but my free motion quilting skills are pretty much null and void at this time. I use my walking foot quite often still. I am always so amazed at what spectacular artistry comes out on a quilt from free motion quilting with many people. The quilters you have chosen are great examples! Thank you so much for sharing these great quilters with us and your brilliant pattern! Have a fantastic creative day!
Hi Yvonne: It’s been great seeing all the versions of the quilt and everyone’s wonderful quilting skills displayed in their version.
It is fun to see how different your Beacon pattern looks when made by other quilters Yvonne. Renee puts such great surprises in her quilting!
I have loved seeing your quilt design in different colors, but especially with different quilting designs.
This is my favourite of the pattern testers’ versions. Renee has turned beacons into snow-capped mountains in a forest. (My interpretation. 🙂 )
I am ALWAYS in awe of her FMQ.
Wow, on a Queen sized one too! The binding works so well on all of the testers’ quilts too, I suppose because it’s such a solid colour background, but it just makes it feel like a very complete design if that makes sense.
