It has been about 24 hours since I returned home from QuiltCon, and there is still a LOT for me to process and think about and share with regard to my experience this year.
First things first, I focused on connecting with some of the fantastic people I met – following on Instagram, sending emails, and generally trying to organize my thoughts a bit.
Secondly, I focused on offloading all the images off of my camera. This year I focused on taking high resolution photos with my camera instead of posting to Instagram. Admittedly, I did a bit of Instagram posting, but even though I would be giving attribution to the person who made the quilt, I was a bit uncomfortable sharing the quilts in that format. Side note: huge thank you to the MQG staff for adding instagram handles to the signage for this year’s QuiltCon. Photo attributions were so much better, and it is clearly in large part to that addition.
So, now that those high priority (at least in my mind) tasks have been completed, I get to focus on my next priority. Sharing the swag! The amount of items that I received this year far exceeds my needs, so I have put together (2) swag bag giveaways to my readers who were not able to attend QuiltCon this year. Due to my limited resources, I am limiting the prizes to be shipped withing the US. I do apologize to my international readers, but hang tight, because I will have another giveaway that is international inclusive coming up soon!
Swag Bag 1 includes the tote from this year, and Swag Bag 2 includes a tote from a previous QuiltCon (I cannot remember if I got it in 2013 or 2015). There are mini charm packs, samples of Soak, thread, patterns, and a planner (swag bag 1) or grid paper notebook (swag bag 2).
You can earn up to 4 entries to this giveaway by using the Rafflecopter widget to enter (click on image below to go to the Rafflecopter entry page)! ***Commenting on this post does not make you eligible for the giveaway!***
The giveaway is open for shipping within the US and will run from February 22nd through February 28th at 11:59 pm EST and is open to entrants 18 years or older. The winners will be announced Monday, February 29th! The giveaway is closed. Congratulations to Laura and Jessica.

I friend of mine who is not a quilter but a sewist and knitter told me her instagram feed was filling up with all these amazing images from something called Quilt Con. She was really impressed that there were all these amazing quilts and that people designed them themselves. I don’t have a cell phone or instagram account so she let me scroll through hers for a while and there was your quilt! Very exciting
Instagram handles on quilt labels: what a good idea. I should suggest that to our local show organisers.
