Holiday Shopping Reminders

Shop Small

I have to admit that I am amazed that I am already feeling the press of the holiday season. Many of my neighbors have their Christmas lights up and shining every evening already (including one very over the top yard that has thousands of strands of lights coordinated with loud music). And with Thanksgiving and the rush of holiday shopping deals that start to happen this week, I just wanted to take a quick moment to point out a few amazing small businesses that you might want to consider supporting when you start your holiday shopping this year.

My husband and I are proud to be offering a 2016 Weekly Photo Calendar using his photography and my editing skills through lulu.com.  This is our 9th year making these calendars. We always try to keep the price low, so they are basically at cost. Be sure to check out the main lulu.com website as they often offer discount codes during the holidays. For instance, use code SHOP25 to save 25% off your purchase through November 23 at 11:59PM.

Mini Barn Quilts

Do you need a great stocking stuffer idea or way to hook your entire family on quilting? Don’t miss out on the awesome Mini Barn Quilt Kits that Terri Ann from Childlike Fascination is producing. There are currently 6 varieties available, and I can attest to how fun they are to create (Hexi Flower Mini Barn Quilt)!

And I am super excited to be a part of Stephanie @Late Night Quilter‘s brain child: The Quilter’s Planner for 2016. Not only will the planner help you organize your life and possibly WIPs, but it comes with a new block pattern for each week of the year and 8 quilt patterns including a two-toned version of Triangle Transparency!

What other quilting items are on your dream wish list this year? I need to make a shopping list for my own family, after all!

  1. Thanks Yvonne, for the reminder. I like to shop handmade and small gifts, too. They have a little more meaning, I think.

Thanks, Yvonne, for the shopping reminders. I’d already ordered from two of the three places you recommendationed, so I just placed an order for your husband’s calendar to round things out. It’ll be a perfect gift for my husband! I don’t comment on blogs often but I religiously read your blog and tremendously appreciate all that you share.

Thumbs up to shopping handmade! Love your choices on gift ideas. I have a hard time getting in to the swing of things…decorate the tree or not! It’s always hard to start it but once I do I never regret it!

  4. My planner is already ordered. Dear Santa: please bring fabric…I’ve been a good girl this year. LOL

So neat! I love your transparency quilts.

  6. I love your transparency quilt, I am so excited to get the pattern in the planner.

Hope you were treated to a few perfect gifts for Christmas too. Sad to say, my family is not the best at finding presents for me, even given a list! But I have ways around this – I bought Venetia some clips as an easier alternative to pins, and I’ve been using them myself since Christmas!

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
