Mini Mini Quilts #15-18

After taking a break from making mini mini quilts for the Instagram #miniminiquiltswap, I caught back up with my backlog of commitments this weekend and made 4 more!

Mini Mini Quilts 15-18

Each mini mini quilt feels like a design challenge on its own. I really like the challenge of incorporating most of the things people tell me that they like (such as books, Harry Potter, gray, teal, and purple… I bet you can figure out which mini that corresponds to!).

My goal is to try to make each mini mini quilt about 4-inches square, but sometimes they end up rectangular or a bit larger than that so that I can maintain points when I put on the binding. I am a bit disappointed in how wonky the orange arrow in the lower right hand corner turned out in the orange mini mini… it is amazing how small details seem so amplified in these small scale quilts.

It is pretty amazing to think that I have made 18 of these cute quilts in just over a month. I have a few swaps planned for some distant future… so I hope you’ll let me know if / when you want to swap, because I’m not done having fun with this quilt size format yet!

Wow! These are really cute and amazing! At the moment I’m sewing little stars for the Christmas Tree QAL by Aylin. My blocks are also 4″ without seam allowance and look like miniminquilts. It’s so much fun to sew them.

I like the wonkiness – gives it character!

Another batch of adorable mini mini’s! The arrows are super cute. I saw the blue one on IG (top left) and knew it was yours before I saw it was you! I hope to swap more a little later, they are a challenge and so fun. My board has filled up and then some! Great job on these!

  4. I love the wonky arrow, especially with the spiral quilting and the orange color! It looks like it’s supposed to be like that. Like those crazy spiral glasses or a fun house type thing! It’s cool! 🙂

  5. Very cute! All your mini mini productivity has me wanting to jump on the bandwagon. If only there were a few more hours in the day (or I required less sleep).

These are so pretty! I think my favorite ones were made for me in mind specifically, and the ones I’ve made for people with their colors or themes in mind. I think the wonky arrow is kinda cute, it’s trying to conform, but it also just wants to go it’s own way.

Yvonne, you’re being too tough on yourself, I think the odd orange arrow is rather whimsical.

You know the “rule”: Never point out the flaws…I totally did not see that arrow until you pointed it out!!!!
I have never swapped before…but I would maybe possibly at some point consider a mini min swap 😉 (I made one for myself as a result of all you guys and all this!)

Wow! I really really like how that middle square of the plus block just pops right out at me!! They are all just too darn cute. I agree on the smaller the block, the more accuracy required. . . part of the reason I avoid them like the plague 😉

As far as the orange wonky arrow: Each travels to the beat of its own drummer!!! I can’t walk a straight line on foot or with the walking foot.

So cute! I really like the puff inside the plus.

  12. I love my wonky triangle!! Guess I need to step up my game and getting working on the three I need to get finished. Got a little sidetracked this weekend — not a bit of sewing due to a cold that kicked my butt.

I could see a whole Christmas tree full of mini mini ornaments–or maybe an arrangement on a wall in the shape of a tree. Ooh, or a mobile? That way you could see the front and back at the same time, because the backs deserve to be seen, too! The orange arrow block is so eyecatching–and that wonkiness works. Is this the beginning of an idea for another arrow quilt?

Shew, you are on a mini mini roll! Love your newest creations, those little arrows are too cool! 🙂

  15. Kaja says:

You just can’t stop, but I can see why. 🙂 I love JanineMarie’s idea of a Christmas tree covered in tiny quilts.

  16. Your mini minis are so sweet, I love the Harry Potter block, nice work, I can see why you’re addicted to these cuties!

    Just love these Yvonne 🙂

All so cute, and I like the wonky arrow, of course!

  19. Hmmm. I am going to have to bring my A-game …
