Since first presenting the mini mini quilts I made last week, I have not been able to stop making mini mini quilts to swap. The third mini quilt I made was actually a themed mini quilt; the person I am swapping with requested a Halloween theme. Thankfully, Sarah @Smiles Too Loudly had gifted me a fat quarter of the perfect fabric last year, and I fussy cut around the prints to create a fun 4-inch square mini quilt. A bit of cotton and steel basics in orange for the binding (it looks like candy corn to me) and some jagged free motion quilting along with the words “TRICK” and “TREAT” made this a sweet finish.
The next mini I made for Kitty @Night Quilter who got me into this whole mess to begin with. 😉 I hope she likes this teal transparency play that I put together for her, which finishes at 4-inches square.
And my final mini mini finish to share (for now) is this bright rainbow delight for Jayne @Twiggy and Opal. I really like the pinwheel in the center and the Aurifil 3817 quilting just seems to suck me right in.
I really am loving the backs of these mini quilts as much as the fronts, so I have not brought myself to sign or label these in any way.
I really hope to get started piecing the back for my husband’s Love Letters quilt today. Unless someone else wants to swap a mini mini with me. 🙂
Oh my giddy aunt these are really tiny hahahaahah I tip my hat to you 😉 they look great 🙂
Yvonne you are definitely addicted to minis. I really like the last one, but they are all super cute.
Oh my…those are mini. Can’t imagine cutting pieces that small. Maybe someday I’ll give it a try.
Ooooh if you have time I’d love to swap a mini mini
I love your mini minis! I want to swap with you sooooooo badly! But I will have to wait til after I launch the Quilter’s Day Planner. I’m in the thick of it right now, and I hope to come up for air the week of October 12th! Keep an eye out for a mini mini from me … Someday!
These are cute for sure!
I’d love to swap with you sometime (just not atm b/c my plate is pretty full). 🙂
All of these are just too cute, but my favorite is the rainbow one you made for Jayne. You keep going like this and someone’s going to have to start a mini-mini support group. But, hey, I guess there are worse things to be addicted to. 🙂
I really like how you used the Halloween fabric! Love the pieced ones, too. I don’t see how you find the time to do all you accomplish! I’m always looking forward to seeing more… I think I will try one here today.
Thank you for swapping with me! I love the rainbow mini and cannot wait to get my hands on it! Oh, and thanks for getting me hooked…I need more swappers, I wanna do more! I love all of the ones you have done so far Yvonne! These are way too much fun!
They are all too cute. I think we could also call these “fun sized” quilts.
How fun! I don’t know if I like the transparency or the rainbow better. You did great!
Yvonne, I can tell in your writing that you are having a grand time creating these! That is my favorite reason for quilting is the pure fun. I stopped by Jaynes blog earlier and she is having fun creating these mini mini quilts also. I would love to be a part of this only, I already have far to many projects going on. Thanks for sharing and continue having a blast with a wonderful creative day!
Those are so cute. I’ve been saving all those little scraps of my very colorful fabric, thinking I’ve really gone of the deepend end. But I could see them in a mini….just might have to eat some chocolate while I’m sewing them because they are truly small.
Adorable! These are great, and I like how creative you are able to be even within such a small size!
Love your mini minis so much. I’m going to have to make me some! As soon as I finish my Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along and my Bonnie and Camille Log Cabin Swap.
I’m swapping a mini mini with Kitty also! I had a lot of fun with it, I’m going to have to keep making things in miniature, though I have to find an easier way to bind them, mine fought me tooth and nail last night. Lol. Your mini minis are lovely, awesome job! 🙂
They are lovely, I’m not suprised you can’t stop making them….
So cute! They’d make nice Christmas tree ornaments or coasters at that size.
Knowing some of the quilters you are sending these to, I’d say you are right on with matching your mini to the quilter.
Yvonne! I wanna swap with you. 😀 This is totally my speed as far as a swap goes!
Looks from the comments like there are more of these in your future! They are very cute and I love the variety of styles you have covered.
These mini minis are just to stinkin’ cute! I love the idea of making one and we will have to do a swap in the future, I think I need to make some test ones to decorate my office cubicle first!
I’ve spent more time thinking about tiny mini quilts and this swap than actually participating. I love the ones you’ve made! Seriously makes me want to make more!
Wow – these are so cute! I love them. I was gonna start one this morning and instead started snipping scraps and now how another larger project going. Oh well. I will get to them soon…fun.
I love the look of mini quilts, but I don’t like working with tiny pieces. I wish I did, because I have seen some cute minis, including yours.
These mini minis are just too cute! This looks like so much fun!
I’d love to give the mini mini swap a try! Do you have tips on getting your binding to look so perfect?
I love all of these, I couldn’t pick a favourite, the bat is just perfect in the Halloween one, love the transparency effect and that rainbow one looks amazing, especially when you consider how small it is!
