It feels so good to be home and in my sewing room again. I have a mini quilt that I can’t wait to share with you on Friday, and I feel excited to have several projects simmering right now. It has been a while since I have participated in Work in Progress Wednesday. Perhaps as long as I have taken to assembly my Love Letters bee blocks from the stash bee (I was queen in June)?
I did not notice I had pieced in one block rotated until I took a picture of the finished quilt top, but both my husband (whom the quilt is destined for) and I like it. Thank you so much to all my bee mates and others who sent in blocks for the quilt following my tutorial. The quilt top is 64-inches wide by 80-inches long, and I think it is going to be just right for my 6-foot 2-inch tall husband.
My task this week is to work with the extra blocks and scrap HSTs along with the fabric selection my husband made to create a pieced backing. I think it is going to be fun to put together!
I also accepted a TShirt quilt commission, and it is time I take a look at all the shirts that were delivered and start coming up with a plan. All the shirts are aircraft / airplane racing / aerospace themed, so I think it is going to be fun for me to work on. I also have pretty wide license to be creative and a wide budget… basically a dream client. 🙂
