At the end of October last year an accident shook my community. I reached out and asked you, my wonderful and generous quilting community, to create blocks for the children most affected. I don’t think I will ever be able to thank you enough for the gift that you have given to me, the kids, and their mother. The last update I shared with you were how the blocks were looking on my design wall.
Miss A and Mr. L have been working hard. They arranged the quilt blocks to their liking and as of Monday afternoon, the quilt blocks are pieced quilt tops! The kids have done an amazing job sewing, and their quarter inch seam allowances are becoming much more consistent. Each quilt is roughly 57 inches by 65 inches, and they are going to be a great snuggle size for the kids.
Both quilts have the names of the children in them, so I have marked over them in these photos to protect their privacy.
The kids want to quilt their quilts on my long arm (awesome!!!). I can’t fit both on my machine at the same time, so I have a few more visits with them, which makes me very happy. It has been a joy working with them and watching their enthusiasm for making their quilts from the blocks you so generously made them. They know stories behind the blocks, and it warms my heart knowing that it means so much to them.
