I am so grateful that my quilting friend Kitty @Night Quilter was able to safely welcome the newest member of her family last Friday, Baby Finn! Hooray for happy and healthy baby and mom! 🙂 <3
Kitty was busy online and with sewing / quilting projects all last week. I know because she sent me a message last week, “Backside fabrics is great! I just got my entirely free sample swatch order!” Who isn’t super thankful for wonderful customer service?!?! I just can’t brag enough about the great service from BackSide Fabrics. What quilt stores come to mind for you when you think about great customer service?
And to round things out this week, I am grateful for a very handy husband. In the middle of the night on Sunday night, our shower faucet failed and he calmly set about fixing it. I slept through most of the ordeal and woke up (at 1 in the morning) as he was finishing up the hour long repair. I am also grateful that I now know how to turn the water off to the house should something as exciting as water gushing out of the shower handle happen when I am home alone…
What are YOU thankful for this week? Here’s how to link up (link up open for 48 hours on Thursday and Friday US Pacific time):
- Link up any blog post the past week that discusses something that you are thankful for, no matter how big or small (Did you win a giveaway? Did your seam ripper save the day? Did a friend do something simple and kind that made your day?).
- To link an Instagram photo, click the Instagram icon at the bottom of the link-up screen, and use the URL of your IG feed as the link (for example, my URL is http://www.instagram.com/quiltingjetgirl). Please hashtag #QuiltyThankfulThursday.
- If you are linking to a blog post, please link back here to my blog somewhere in your post.
- Comment on at least a few of the other Thankful Thursday links, either IG or blog—commenting on the two or three links directly before yours works well to make sure everyone gets comments!
I am really grateful that my third grandson was born, finally after 8 long days, and a few complications.
Step 1 – write and publish a post to your blog that discusses something that you are thankful for, no matter how big or small (Did you win a giveaway? Did your seam ripper save the day? Did a friend do something simple and kind that made your day?).
Step 2 – Click on the large button at the bottom of this post that says “Click to View & Add Your Links!”
Step 3 – A new page, the link up page, will now open. Click on the “Add your link” button which is a smaller light blue button on the lower left hand side.
Step 4 – Copy the URL of your blog post that you published in Step 1 into the Link field. Follow the rest of the steps and click on the “done!” button in the lower right hand corner.
Step 5 – Visit other people who have linked up or come back later to visit other sites.
Sorry to hear about your plumbing troubles. What a relief to know you can count on your partner to keep you from drowning in your sleep. Hahaha! Congrats to Kitty and her healthy new baby Finn! What great news!
I’m glad to know you can order samples from Backside Fabrics. I was suggesting their fabrics to my mom for a super simple wedding quilt for my nephew.
I’ve never heard of this magic wide backing supplier but I’m browsing through their site now and wow, gonna have to bookmark that one for later! Very proud you know how to shut off the water in the house now. That’s usually the first thing I identify when moving into a new place, how do I shut down the water, electric and oil. Promptly followed by knowing where the fire extinguishers are/need to be, saving the local non-emergency numbers into my phone and making sure I have fire ladders if I’m above the first floor. Sometimes I’m a little neurotic like that.
Ooooh free swatches! I will have to look into that more for my next large quilt…
I had to order a few swatches myself to have them on hand. Convenient to have someone out there specializing. Thanks for the heads up.
Julie
It seriously was so nice to be able to receive a bunch of swatches as samples with zero investment. It helped me confidently choose the backing that fits my quilt top best, AND now I have samples of potential backings for future quilts, too! Thank you for the introduction, Yvonne!!
A handy husband is most definitely something to be thankful for! Sadly mine is no good in that respect, he does have other advantages though!
Plumbing issues, no bueno… but being able to handle it in the future is a huge plus! I really love the Fat Quarter Shop customer service as well as MSQC, they are both really personable, even with shipped packages they personally write on them and I think it shows just that extra little detail to know they really appreciate and care for you as a customer.
