I am super excited and thankful to announce that I have a sponsor! Due to my genuine interest and support of BackSide Fabrics through my Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day post, I developed a relationship with the owner, Christine. You can now see BackSide Fabrics featured with a sponsor button on the right hand side of my page.
My good quilting friend Kitty @Night Quilter perfectly summed up her Thoughts on Sponsorship earlier this week, and I feel the same way.
I am confident that as I partner with new sponsors, I will NOT lose my authenticity. In fact, having sponsorship will help me devote more time toward participating in the quilting community. I’m not a salesperson. I’m an excited and eager quilter who loves to share helpful tips, ideas, and reactions to new tools, products, and fabrics that I find exceptional. I will not compromise my dedication to being true to myself and honest with you. If I love a product or shop, I want to share that with you. And if that product or shop wants to compensate me in some small way for doing so, then that’s okay with me.
To top it all off, I needed some wide quilt backing for a new project I am working on, and I am really excited and anticipating the arrival of this fun backing fabric from BackSide Fabrics later this week:
What are YOU thankful for this week? Here’s how to link up (link up open for 48 hours on Thursday and Friday US Pacific time):
- Link up any blog post the past week that discusses something that you are thankful for, no matter how big or small (Did you win a giveaway? Did your seam ripper save the day? Did a friend do something simple and kind that made your day?).
- To link an Instagram photo, click the Instagram icon at the bottom of the link-up screen, and use the URL of your IG feed as the link (for example, my URL is http://www.instagram.com/quiltingjetgirl). Please hashtag #QuiltyThankfulThursday.
- If you are linking to a blog post, please link back here to my blog somewhere in your post.
- Comment on at least a few of the other Thankful Thursday links, either IG or blog—commenting on the two or three links directly before yours works well to make sure everyone gets comments!

Awesome news about your first sponsor – congratulations! Love that cool backing fabric.
Congratulations, Yvonne! I got that fabric from Back Side Fabrics in black and light gray. LOVE!! I agree, for selection and F A S T shipping, Back Side Fabrics is awesome!
Congratulations to you! I certainly enjoy and appreciate that you share your talent and passion for design and quilting. Thank you! Enjoy your day!
Congratulations on your first sponsor! Way to go!!
Hooray for you Yvonne! I will definitely remember where to look now the next time I need wide backing fabric, because that is a great resource! The Prisms backing you ordered reminds me of a Jennifer Sampou design and I love it. It will look great paired with many different quilt tops too.
Congratulations on your first sponsor! I like wide backings much more than pieced ones for large quilts, and I’ll definitely check out Backside Fabrics.
How exciting for you. 😀 Today I’m especially grateful for getting to know my mom’s longarm machine. It’s not so intimidating any more.
Oh this is such amazing and awesome news! Super congratulations to you and something to be super thankful for! I am so happy for you! I also agree with the statement made regarding sponsorship… I personally think you can tell when someone posts just for the sponsorship rather than someone who is sponsored by someone/shop they absolutely love and do want to share it with everyone.
Congratulations, that’s great news, and sounds the perfect way to get a sponsor.
Hurray! And I love that backing fabric.
Congrats for getting a sponsor!
Congrats on the sponsor- and like everyone else- i too love that backing fabric.
Congrats on the sponsor. It’s so funny that you chose that prism fabric. I went to their site the other day (off of your recommendation) and have been waffling back and forth on getting some of that fabric in aqua. I just love it!
Congratulations, that is a great shop with some really fun backing options! I am thankful that this weekend is a long weekend and that I will be spending it at a music festival in Boston where, just last night I spent a very happy couple of hours watching Beck perform. I am thankful for some rest, relaxation and fun!
