Last year I participated in the 2014 New Quilt Bloggers Blog hop hosted by Beth @plum and june. I am so thankful to Beth for facilitating the group discussions and blog hop; I learned so much. A year ago I didn’t know about link parties, Bloglovin’, or really how to participate in the online community. This year, a group of alumni are going to work to host the 2015 New Quilt Bloggers Blog hop, and I am thrilled to be a part of the mentor team.
Today, I am really excited to announce the details on how to sign up to participate in this year’s 2015 New Quilt Bloggers Blog hop.

2015 New Quilt Bloggers Resources
If you follow me already, you know that I am a fairly prolific blogger. For some reason I seem to be able to have a post ready to go almost every day. Because things can get lost in the shuffle, I created a new tab on my website navigation where I will be collecting the information and resources for the 2015 New Quilt Bloggers. So if you come back to my site and cannot quickly find what you are looking for, just look for the 2015 New Quilt Bloggers tab up above. 🙂
Looking for ways to get involved even if you are not a new quilt blogger?
Even if you are not a former alumni of the new quilt blogger blog hops, if you are interested in getting involved there are some opportunities I want to let you know about! If you have any advice that you would have loved to have received when you first began blogging, write a post about it and let us know! The mentors will be linking to advice posts, and you can already check out the growing list I have begun collecting: Advice for New Bloggers.
When the blog hops begin, each of the mentors will be hosting a group of blogs and we would love for you to follow along and check out the new members of our online community. If you don’t already, please think about visiting / following / checking out the co-hosts for this years blog hop.
- Stephanie @Late Night Quilter
- Cheryl @Meadow Mist Designs
- Terri Ann @Childlike Fascination
I am really looking forward to learning more from this wonderful community.
Yvonne, I think it is awesome that you ladies are taking this over! I linked to your post and encouraged people to come check it out. 🙂 I’ll be thinking about a topic for a future post! I’ll be in touch 🙂
This is so great. I feel so out of the loop since I didn’t get any of the notifications on the google groups page. I’ll definitely be writing a post later today to spread the word for new bloggers. I also have a advice post that I plan to write up as well. So exciting! Let me know if I can help in any other way.
It’s so great that you guys are hosting this year! It was great to be a part of last year’s hop and I ‘met’ so many wonderful bloggers through it. I’ll put up a post promoting this year’s hop this week to help spread the word. Also, I love that you say “modern quilting to you is modern quilting to us!” It’s nice to keep it open and inclusive.
I’m excited about the Facebook group to keep the mentoring going. Thanks for doing this!
So excited for this. Thanks to all of you for putting out the effort to host this.
It’s really wonderful that you and the others are doing this Yvonne. What a great thing this will be for new modern quilt bloggers!
I’m still trying to come up with a title. I have a feeling I’ll still be pondering this time next year.
I’m really excited to be part of this. I’ve been learning at a snails pace on my own and I am really excited at the opportunity to learn from those who have been there before.
Hi Lisa! I have noticed that you have commented on my blog posts several times recently. I really like to write everyone back, but each time I try my emails fail to get through to you. The email address you are linking to ( sunlightinwinterquilts1(at)gmail(dot)com ) does not seem to work. I just wanted to let you know! 🙂
Sounds like a great plan. 🙂 I don’t use Facebook, but I look forward to visiting the new blogs on this hop.
To know we first met on the first New Bloggers Blog Hop and to see how much you have grown and adapted since… it’s pretty inspiring and encouraging. Proud of you, Yvonne!
I’m sure it will be a big success again, I think it’s a great idea to have a few of you hosting and, personally, I would have much preferred FB as a platform last year rather than google so that sounds a good move to me too. I’ve shared it in my post today, but I bet you’re well on your way already.
Hi, Yvonne…. I’m a new blogger, a little over a year. I only have two to three posts per month, but I would like to join in. In fact, I’m very new to social media, but I have a FB account. Are we doing some projects in blog hop? Still not sure what blog hop is but it sounds like fun. My quilting is quite different from the traditional method. I’m working on a book with the AQS coming out next spring, cross my fingers. Would love some more info. before I sign up. Thanks!
