I have been excited about this quilt and pattern for months, and I am so happy to be able to share Triangle Transparency with you today!
Last August, I created a quilt design for the Facebook Quilt Design a Day (QDAD) group. The design seed image and my original quilt design are below. (It was only my third day of participating in QDAD.)
The dangerous part about participating in the QDAD group is the quick desire to make all of your designs into quilts! I put this idea on hold for many months, but I kept scouring the internet for modern green fabrics that read as solids to use in the design. In December, I found what I was looking for and was able to finally go through my own pattern as the first tester.
One of the things I love most about the pattern is how quickly the 60-inch by 60-inch quilt top comes together. Because it is a large, graphic design, it is a gratifying project to work on. I also love how different the design looks from different angles.
The pattern is suitable for beginners after having established the ability to sew a consistent seam allowance. The pattern also has a lot of ideas and help with fabric selection, which is the key to pulling off the layered depth look of the pattern.
I had the wonderful pleasure of having my pattern made, tested, and edited by 3 fabulous quilters. So in addition to my quilt, pattern, and notes, you will get to see the amazing work of Renee @Quilts of a Feather, Judy @Quilt Paradigm, and Kate @Thread Everywhere in the pattern and this week as we have a blog hop to celebrate the pattern release! I am so grateful to these ladies for their time and feedback, and please check back this week as they share their beautiful work.
