It is really unusual for me to get sick. This past winter my poor husband had the flu and several colds and I never really came down with anything. This past weekend I was knocked down by a cold. I had a high fever for about 12 hours and just really did not have the energy to do much.
I had big plans to finish up the Space Age Tumbling Blocks quilt top, but over 3 days, I only spent 1 hour sewing. I hope that this week I will see an increase in my energy levels.
On top of being under the weather, I lost my sewing mojo a bit this weekend. I am struggling with how to appropriately handle and respond to an awkward quilt commission, and that is all I am comfortable explaining. Sometimes things don’t work out very smoothly, and I am trying to understand how I can use this experience to shape outcomes in the future. So that leaves me much more reflective than excited about sewing. Hopefully this week some time working on the Space Age Tumbling Block quilt will really be soothing and slowly work up my excitement again.
I hope you feel better soon and that the quilt commission resolves itself with ease. I go through highs and lows of quilting motivation, but it low moments usually goes away by working on a project that I love.
Oh my, I am sorry, and I can appreciate what you are going through. To be on a deadline but not be at your best. It will come back, I promise!!!
Boo, hope you feel better. The space age tumbling blocks are looking great. Good luck with the commission dilemma, and just remember to try to be true to your goals, and it’ll hopefully work out.
Get better soon! It is no fun being under the weather. Having worked with hundreds of customers over the years, the best advice I have is just deal with the difficult ones quickly and honestly and move on. I used to stew for days only to discover it wasn’t as dreadful as I imagined.
Oh, sad. I hope you feel better soon! I’m really excited to see this quilt done, so hopefully your spirits lift and you get that mojo right back. I also hope this commission situation works out well. Sorry to heart it. 🙁
Hope you feel better soon and your sewing mojo returns with a gusto! I have had an awkward moment or two with commissioned projects, ditto to what Cynthia said 🙂
I’m glad you’re feeling better! I hate when I am so sick I can’t even sew. I’m sorry you’re having issues with a commissioned quilt, they can be so stressful! I hope things can resolved nicely. Maybe you can spend some time working on another project for a day or two?
I hope you feel better soon and get your quilting mojo back. Good luck with the commission situation.
Get feeling better, and I hope you find a resolution for your commissioned project. I have learned to be careful what I agree to.
So sad you’re having a tough weekend. I hope you feel better soon and I hope your commission issue is resolved quickly. Sending positive thoughts your way!
Hopefully you are on the mend and starting to feel yourself again! Good luck on your commission situation, just think of it as a learning opportunity and hopefully it resolves itself. Be creative 🙂
Sorry you are feeling so bad, take time to rest because that is what your body needs and you are more important than any quilt. Your mojo will come back when you feel better.
Sorry to hear you got real sick. I hope you back in the game by now. My sewjo is taking vacation as well.
Get well soon!
I suspect there is a reason I have never taken on a quilty commission. I hope it works out for you.
I agree with Chelsea; just think of the commission situation as a learning experience. If it happens again you’ll have a better idea of what to do 🙂 (first times dealing with these kinds of things are always stressful so I totally understand!!). The blocks are coming together great so I hope you start feeling better to work on it some more 😀
