Space Age Tumbling Blocks

I took my time carefully cutting all the pieces for this quilt top, because I knew that after the cutting prep, it would be all about consistent seam allowance and no more trimming! It took me 3 hours to get all the pieces cut and assembled.

One of my favorite things about piecing a quilt top is watching it “shrink” up as the seams are sewn. It’s like magic to scroll through photos of the process!

I am really happy with how well my points are lining up. I am taking my time as I sew the columns together to make sure that I align the points and seams, and just a bit of extra time and patience is really helping this come together nicely. I expect that I will finish piecing this top on Friday or early Saturday and move into quilting over the weekend.

And this photo is just because. My silly cat really wanted his photo taken with the quilt. Yay for design walls that help me keep him from laying all over the pieces…

When we had a cat at the old house I didn’t have a design wall. He loved to run and roll through the quilts laid out on the floor. Your blocks are coming together so nicely! I’m always amazed at how much more triangles shrink, compared to squares. Look forward to seeing how you quilt it!

  3. You truly are amazing, girl, at the amount of work you turn out! wow. I need to put up a design wall, too!

  5. That’s going so fast! I know how you feel with pet fur. Even with the design wall, I feel like my dogs fur gets on my projects. How does that happen?
