Positive Nap Quilt
2014 Finished Quilts, Quilts

Positively Perfect Nap Quilt {Completed Quilt}

I am really excited to be able to sneak in a Friday Finish right at the end of the day! This lap or nap size quilt was a lot of fun to work on, and I like the back as much as the front. It took me 3 hours on Thursday to get the backing complete. I then took the 4.5 mile round trip walk to my LQS to pick up batting for the project.

I spent 6.5 hours today basting, quilting, and binding the quilt, which brought my total time working on this quilt to 14.5 hours.

I used a variegated blue and white cotton thread and stitched an all over pointed meandering pattern.

Working on this quilt spanned the week for me. I was glad to work on such a fun and “positive” pattern. Thanks again to April Rosenthal for her tutorial in the Moda Back Shop: Positively Perfect Nap Quilt that I used as a basis for this quilt. Pre-wash the quilt was 59″ by 59″ and after first wash it is 56″ by 56″. Just right for an afternoon nap. But since it is pretty late, I will settle for a bath and going to bed for today.

    Such a great quilt! The quilting on it is fantastic, and I like how you brought blocks to the back – its like a reversible quilt! 🙂

    Congrats on pretty finish. I especially like your walk in between making 🙂 What a fun to go for a walk to pick up batting.

    Nice job!!

    It turned out cute! I love the back! The quilting was a great choice. Your quilts seem to shrink more than mine–what batting do you use?

  5. It’s brilliant! Perfect fabric choices!

    Great finish! The back is really cool. I’m a big fan of pieced backs, and yours is really nice! I also like how you include all the stats, like how much time you spent working on something or how much it shrank. That kind of information can be so helpful!

    I love it. The quilting is so cool, did you use a template or just free motion it?

  8. is this for you? i love it! and it would be hard to give this away lol. i really like the cloud/lightening fabric…where did you get it? so wish we lived close so you could teach me to fmq!

  9. This turned out really well. Your pointed meandering looks perfect on this quilt.

    I love seeing how you quilt your quilts. I have only tried this design once. I think I need to try it again. Another great finish!

  12. It looks great! I really love the back, and the quilting is a fun variation on a simple meander.

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
