Ouch

Yesterday afternoon, I was happily working away on making a backing for my You + Me quilt that I started in Heather Jones‘ class at SewDown Portland on Saturday. I was pressing open a seam, and as I tugged the fabric to move it down the ironing board with one hand, I pressed the edge of the iron I was holding in my other hand to my bicep. Ouch. I have a very angry looking 4″ long crescent moon burn that is quite painful right now. I bet I won’t forget making this quilt for a while! *heh*

  1. Oh, I reached OVER my iron a few weeks back and burned my underarm quite nicely. The skin is still a different color, and I’m starting to think I’ll have a permanent reminder of that project… Hope you heal ASAP!

    1. Ooch, why do we have to catch our tender undersides so often? Thanks – after only a few days my burn is already a lot better. This isn’t the first time I’ve gotten an accidental iron burn and I’m sure it won’t be the last. 🙂

      1. I consider myself lucky that even though I’ve had a few nasty ironing incidents, I’ve managed to avoid a bad rotary cutter one… Knock on wood!

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
