Whale of a Time - Whale Fabric Detail
Quilts

WiP Wednesday

*WiP = Work in Progress

I mentioned that I came home from SewDown Portland with 5 projects. 4 projects came from the classes, and the 5th was started during the open sew on Friday night after registration and dinner. I didn’t have a project to work on with me, so I stopped by the pop up quilt store (Drygoods Design) and picked out some fun fabric! I didn’t have a big cutting board or anything fancy, but I made 5″ square blocks into large nine patch blocks and then cut them into quarters to make these fun blocks.

I used up most of the print fabric during the open sew making these blocks, so I think I’ll try to find a coordinating solid green and teal and make some blocks using solid colors (white, black, green, teal) and some solid blocks that are just a single color. It’s going to be fun to see what this turns into!

The whale fabric is super fun! I love the spout of water that occurs occasionally in the pattern. : )
