I had a great weekend at #SewDownPortland. The rare snowstorm that affected the area did not seem to dampen anyone’s spirits. I made it home (a day later than originally planned…) with 5 new projects. I can’t wait to share them with you!
The tire tracks in snowy downtown Portland streets reminded me of tumbling blocks!
I was so thankful to be warm and cozy in the hotel just a few floors up from where the event was hosted. I know that there were lots of late nights in preparation for the event and lots of last minute improvisation due to the weather. I really appreciate how gracious and wonderful everyone was despite the added stress.
My mother joined me for the weekend, and we had decided to fly into Portland on Thursday so that we could walk around downtown on Friday before registration opened. When we heard about the winter storm rolling into Portland on Thursday, we were wondering if our flight would be cancelled. To our surprise, everything went smoothly and we arrived in Portland on time! After a short wait for a taxi cab, we found ourselves in downtown Portland. Downtown seemed to be mostly shut down on Friday, and we opted to visit and stay warm and inside.
