Blue Rover

I wanted to make a quilt for my brother. When I saw the “Red Rover” pattern in “Cozy Modern Quilts”, I thought it would be perfect, but I was happy to honor his request to substitute blue for the red in the quilt. 🙂

It took a bit of time to get the top pieced together – there were a lot of steps, but Puppy was there to help out (and blend in) every step of the way.

It turned out to be big enough for our Queen sized bed, so I didn’t feel the need to add borders beyond the pattern.

I sent this quilt back to TN along with the “Zipper Quilt” which I hope to have done soon. It was quilted on a long arm with black thread on the top, blue thread on the bottom, and in an all over “stippled” pattern. It turned out beautifully and I just finished up the binding this afternoon. A bit late, but I hope it makes a good birthday present!
