Quilt for Mr. O

I had been trying to make a quilt for my brother-in-law, Todd, for years.  I knew that I wanted to make it mostly red or red and black and work with the UNM Lobo / dog theme, but I had really been struggling to find a pattern and fabric I liked.  I’m just not a red person, so I thought that was my problem.  After working on the log cabin quilt with my mom for Baby Dare, I thought it would be pretty easy to expand the pattern into a lap sized quilt.  I also happened to stumble upon some fantastic red and black fabric online, and I was off to the races.  I am really proud of how this quilt turned out.  I spelled out “U N M    L A W” in the centers of the log cabin blocks.  By far, one of the best quilts I’ve made so far and probably the one I’m currently the most proud of.
