After moving to California, I did not set up my sewing room quickly enough, and it turned into an airplane spare parts storage room instead:
I didn’t really have any huge inspiration to do a project for almost two years, though. However, recently Michael and I have been getting more baby announcements than wedding announcements. So, I set out to make my first baby quilt.
The couple for whom I was making this baby quilt like to spend their evenings outside with their (homemade) telescopes, so I bought warm cotton flannel material thinking it would be a nice, cozy blanket to bundle up the baby in while still keeping up with their hobby. I found all the fabric online and planned out the pattern before I purchased the fabric. It took a bit longer to get done than I was hoping, but I think that it turned out pretty well. I also got really lucky – the theme they picked out for the baby room was animal/zoo, so it fit in quite well!
